Your opportunity:
Our Rockland office is looking for a Senior Accounting Technician who will be responsible for supervising the accounting services of our clients. This person will be part of the Assurance & Accounting team and own the following responsibilities:

Management and review of workload related to assignments of bookkeeping engagements.
Planning staff allocation and working with team members to complete projects on time within budgets.
Review and completion of working papers needed to prepare financial statements and tax returns for compilation according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of businesses.
Managing and ensuring that all significant engagement matters are documented and brought to the attention of the Senior Manager/Manager/Partner, as well as keeping them informed of the progress of the engagement.
Coordination of tax assignments including preparation of T4s, T5s, HST, WSIB, EHT to ensure queries are cleared and deadlines are met.
Preparation of correspondence and assessment filings for personal and corporate tax returns.
Following-up with appropriate government agencies on questions relating to payroll, assessments, HST, QST, REQ, business numbers and income security programs (CPP,OAS, GIS, EI).
Managing the client needs and deadlines on a regular basis.
Assist with annual performance reviews and evaluations of staff.

Your experience and education

You have a post-secondary diploma or certificate in Accounting or Business.
You have 5+ yeas of professional experience in a similar accounting role and good working knowledge of accounting policies.
You have previous experience with accounting programs including Caseware, Caseview, QuickBooks, Sage.
You are proficient with MS Office have previous experience with TaxPrep or a similar tax program.
You are Bilingual in English and French.
You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise and work in a team environment.
You have outstanding client/customer service skills.
