We are looking for a User Experience (UX) Designer to join our Zedi Cloud SCADA Solutions team. Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, the successful candidate will drive the usability, and usefulness of our digital assets.

This requires a collaborative and dynamic individual to work with product management and the agile development teams to ensure we create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to end users. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of design and facilitation skills, with a passion for design thinking. They will also have deep empathy for users and be driven to create intuitive user experiences.

Roles & Responsibilities

Collaborate with development teams to build new features, create intuitive user interface designs and identify and resolve user experience pain points
Collaborate with product management to define and refine features necessary to meet overall program objectives
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and similar artifacts to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
Evaluate and improve designs through frequent engagement with end-users
Explore new ways of communicating design concepts and supporting information to stakeholders
Foster a culture of collaboration, constructive criticism, and continuous feedback
Provide leadership and guidance on design principles to a multi-disciplinary team

Post Secondary diploma or degree considered an asset (Computer Science, Engineering, Arts, Psychology, Business or other related field)
Agile Development training
Rapid prototyping tools (Balsamiq, Axure, InVision) training

Preferred Knowledge and Skills
5 years of relevant experience
Proven track record of designing solutions that address user needs
Experience with diverse design teams that design successful products
Ability to clearly communicate designs, ideas, and concepts to a range of audiences
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills
Solid understanding of usability principles and techniques
Exceptional conceptual and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify design issues and drive the conversation with multi-disciplinary teams to address them
Experience with a wide range of human-centered design methods
Understanding of how to apply design thinking to product development
Rapid prototyping tools (Balsamiq, Axure, InVision) training
