Market Research and Data Entry Assistant

Our life size shopper labs include virtual reality and eye tracking, which assist in capturing real consumer behaviour.

Position Summary

Research assistants are responsible for in-field execution of quantitative consumer research studies. They conduct one on one interviews and assist in projects relating to understanding consumer shopping behaviours for a variety of clients. The execution of consumer and market study fieldwork occurs both in our labs and at external locations.

There is also opportunity to work as data entry assistants on coding eye-tracking data, which on the job training is provided for. Data entry assistants are responsible for analyzing in-field results of consumer research studies and apply quantitative techniques to gather relevant information.

Both roles are project-based, part-time positions. The hourly rate for either starts at $16/hour. An average week may consist of 30-40+ hours, with flexibility depending on the project needs. We operate 5-7 days a week, and shifts range from 8 to 10 hours.

Explorer Research conducts projects across Canada and the US – availability to travel is an asset. All training is provided and paid for. Field expenses are also covered.

Research Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one on one interviews with respondents to gain consumer insights in-lab or out-in-field
  • Use of biometric and eye tracking technology
  • Assist analysts with coding data
  • Project set up and take down
  • Occasionally lead field work off location
  • Coordinating multiple respondents by directing them to appropriate study
  • Assist with end of day closing tasks
  • Ensure required technologies are set up and properly shut down

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, self-directed & possess a driven personality capable of working long hours
  • Time management and punctuality is essential
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Enjoys working in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail & commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information
  • Some understanding of quantitative and qualitative research practices is a plus
  • Valid drivers license and passport preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $16.00 /hour
