THE OPPORTUNITY

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Quality and Clinical Supports, the Quality Specialist, Clinical Nursing ("Specialist") provides leadership
in nursing best practice and quality to the entire organization. The Specialist will oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of programs
including dementia care and palliative care as well as lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives such as medication safety and falls prevention.
The role also includes teaching best practices in clinical care as well as quality and safety practices. Working collaboratively with members of the quality
and clinical learning and development departments as well as regional directors and site managers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
Current registration with BCCNP;
Nursing Certificate in Gerontology preferred;
Experience in quality improvement, patient safety, and process improvement;
Five (5) years clinical experience, preferably in long term care, continuing care, or community care;
Experience in adult education;
A vehicle is required for local travel.

REQUIREMENT

All new employees are required to submit:
  • a current and clear Criminal Record Check and if applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date;
  • a tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
