We are currently seeking a talented employment lawyer to join our legal department on a 14 month contract (maternity leave coverage) as Corporate Counsel, based in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, this is an exciting opportunity to work as a strategic partner with the business on a broad range of challenging employment matters.

Your duties will include advising on a wide range of day-to-day employment issues, handling and/or supervising employment litigation and human rights files, assisting in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures, and providing advice and support on various strategic human resources projects
Canada Walmart DivisionCorporate
4-7 years of employment law experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department dealing with a variety of employment law matters, including employment litigation, employment standards matters, occupational health and safety and human rights matters.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to prioritize competing demands
Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills
A working knowledge of French would be an asset.
Licensing & Other Qualifications
LL.B/J.D. and member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
