Airbus' ties to Canada were deepened in October 2017 when Airbus sought to acquire a majority stake in the C Series Aircraft Limited Partnership (renamed Airbus Canada Limited Partnership in June 2019), the entity that manufactures and sells Bombardier's single-aisle C Series jets- rebranded the A220 Family, with its two versions designated the A220-100 and A220-300. The partnership markets, manufactures and supports the A220 Family worldwide.

Position Summary:
Within the framework of the consolidated North American General Procurement (GP) organization and in the context of the ending of the shared services of Bombardier to Airbus Canada, Airbus and Airbus Canada Limited Partnership (ACLP), are engaging in a transformation of ACLP's organization and processes. The Senior Buyer Project Manager is accountable for the transformation of General Procurement activities in ACLP, and for the implementation of new Shared Services in the region from a general Procurement stand-point, in coordination with the Shared Services organization.

In this mission, the Senior Buyer will drumbeat the transformation of the General Procurement in Airbus Canada through a detailed projects roadmap, including an awareness programme towards all impacted functions within ACLP to ensure the compliance to the Airbus General Procurement policies and processes.

She/he will also support and drumbeat from a General Procurement standpoint, the transfer of the Services currently provided by Bombardier to ACLP. This encompasses identifying synergies across the North American region, and Airbus worldwide, and support any Shared Services initiative launched within Airbus and/or the North American region.

The Senior Buyer is also accountable for cross-functional project management including stakeholder communication related to business-critical general procurement processes and the systems that support them.

Primary Responsibilities:
Transition of General Procurement activities drumbeat Airbus Canada Limited Partnership: (40%)

Engage with Internal Customers (IC) organizations to establish a clear vision and roadmap for the Services and contracts to be transitioned, with the support of the Post-Merger Integration team (PMI) and local KAM.
Provide detailed view of the Service to be transferred to General Procurement (GP) teams in Europe and US with proposed synergies according to the existing contracts in General Procurement, with the support of the local and regional KAMs, and the HO GP for North America.
Ensure GP compliance in all services to be transferred, including the nomination of a GP focal point in each project-MFT, and materialize the agreement and closing of the services transferred to GP by means of project sheets signed by ACLP and GP.
Drumbeat each Service/Contract transition project roadmap from a General Procurement perspective, in full alignment with the regional and European GP teams
Drumbeat and secure the implementation of the Multi-Functional Teams within ACLP, in coordination with ACLP KAM and the North American region.
Prepare and deliver transition program presentations in the A220 steering committee to an executive audience (SVP General Procurement, VP ACLP Procurement), ensuring that all expected deliverables for each major program milestone meet quality standards and that decisions and actions are well documented and that progress reporting on their implementation is ensured.

Project Management Americas/Airbus Regional Shared Service Initiatives: (40%)

Support the regional Shared Services Initiatives from a General standpoint, in full alignment with the HO GP for North America.
Ensure proper integration of all North American entities into the project and identification of their best interests from a GP perspective.
Represent GP in the recurring Shared Services program meetings, ensuring a regular drumbeat of GP projects' deliverables and KPIs for time, quality and cost, reporting to, and escalating issues to GP Regional Director.

Change Management: (20%)

Develop a robust change management plan, teaming with the Key Account Manager, and with the support of the Director of General Procurement for North America. Delivers awareness sessions on Airbus General Procurement policies and processes to support the transition and ensure compliance.
Implement the change management plan as an integrated and embedded part of the overall General Procurement transition, ensuring effective messaging and communication is delivered proactively and solicits in a structured manner direct feedback from impacted stakeholders.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Master's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or a related field
Black Belt certification

+ 5 to 7 years in General Procurement
Good knowledge of Airbus General Procurement

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Project Management Excellent skills to motivate multi-functional teams in situation of often conflicting objectives (Internal Customer, Supplier, Budget) to perform synergies identification and transition to Airbus GP policies and processes.
Proven leadership capabilities and team working skills that can be applied in a complex matrix organization

Ability to identify and solve complex problems and manage conflict
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a senior executive audience (internal and external)
Knowledge of Business Case Analysis & TCO Approach.
Procurement process and advanced negotiation skill.
Knowledge of North American supplier base and cost structure.
Analytical capacities to synthesize large quantities of data to generate meaningful insights
Capable of living up to the Airbus Integrity Principles, consistently demonstrating ethical leadership behaviors
Several years of international experience and relationship building capabilities across cultures
Performance Management KPI design and reporting knowledge and experience


Certifications in project management & purchasing are preferred (i.e. PMP, CPP)

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

Fluent English and French required
Additional Languages appreciated (German, Spanish etc.)

Technical Systems Proficiency:
Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, Access, Project, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
Advanced knowledge of enterprise systems, including SAP, Coupa, E-Proc

Decision Making, Complexity:
The Senior Buyer/Project Manager shall design, structure and facilitate the General Procurement transition, and propose the adequate sourcing models. He/she shall ensure alignment between Internal Customers, General Procurement organization and company executives on the overall GP transition program strategy and execution, ensuring a collective focus, resolving issues and reinforcing multi-functional collaboration.
Manage the relationship with internal business partners to achieve target levels of customer satisfaction for assigned site and divisions. Works closely with the Regional Director of General Procurement and drives local multi-functional teams (MFTs) to maximize visibility on procurement planning.
Ensure compliance to Airbus General Procurement policies and processes through strong communication with internal customers.
Drive change management and culture change

Organizational information:
The Senior Buyer/Project Manager reports directly to the Head of General Procurement North America.

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:
Support and drive the transition of Airbus Canada General Procurement into the Airbus model, identifying synergies with Airbus divisions within the region and Europe
Support the regional Shared Services Initiatives from a General standpoint, in full alignment with the GP Regional Director.
