Position: *Shipper/ Receiver - Full Time

Location: Brampton Distribution Center
Days of Work: Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday
Available Shifts: Afternoons 2pm – 10:30pm or Nights 10pm – 6:30am

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe loading of pallets onto outbound trailers, as well as the unloading of product and materials coming in from suppliers and other interbranch warehouses
  • Perform picking and assembling of all orders using a RF scanner and warehouse management system to track movement of product
  • Work as part of a team to meet daily warehouse productivity, health & safety, and order quality related targets
  • Complete all shipping related documentation consistently and accurately
  • Ensure proactive steps are taken to minimize shipping errors and damages
  • Work with a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities to optimize processes
  • Rotate stock and conduct inventory cycle counts as required
  • Assist with DC and trailer housekeeping to ensure a clean work environment which meets required standards
  • Attend prescribed courses and training as required
  • Support other functions within the DC as required
  • Work in a variety of temperature-controlled departments ranging from 2-4 degrees Celsius (cooler) to -18 degrees Celsius (freezer)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse/distribution center experience
  • Counter Balance, Electric Lift Truck and Reach Truck certification or experience
  • Good communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a team environment
  • Excellent sanitary and safety work habits
  • Must be flexible with the ability to multi-task and perform shift work
  • Capable of performing the physical demands of the job
  • Must be able to perform simple math and calculations
  • Aptitude to learn how to use an automated Warehouse Management System
  • Computer skills would be an asset

Working Environment:

Regular exposure to noise, cold temperatures, humidity and dry conditions. Continuous exposure to hazardous machines, moving objects (forklifts) and frequent interruptions. Occasional exposure to dust and extreme temperatures.

Physical Demands:

Sitting for extended length of time, standing and walking for considerable length of time. Occasional lifting of materials up to 10kg. Infrequent lifting of materials up to 35kg.
