Operator - Palmerston
Work Location: Palmerston, Ontario
Status: Permanent, Full Time,
CHALLENGES WE OFFER
This position is responsible for operating, repairing and servicing the location farm supply equipment and grain handling equipment in the plant and servicing customers.
Main responsibilities are:
Safely receives grain delivered to the facility by farm customers ensuring quality matches company standards watching for treated seed or off spec material;
Loads and ships grain safely, efficiently and according to grade specifications established;
Operates grain dryers during harvest periods, monitoring grain moisture and quality throughout;
Loads bagged or bottled product using a forklift; not required
Maintains and performs basic repairs and servicing of location farm supply and grain equipment, the plant and yard;
Responsible for receiving grains and oilseeds per Canadian Grain Commission Standards;
Uses scale system to accurately input weights and measures;
Checks the seed grade and advises management of grain quality issues;
Responsible for testing of various grains received when needed.
YOU FIT THE FOLLOWING PROFILE
You possess a High School diploma;
You have at least one year of relevant experience;
You hold a valid G drivers license;
You have strong work ethic and you are a team player;
You are able to climb a grain elevator (up to 180 feet) and you are able to lift over 20 lbs.
