Our company, a long-established real-estate development and management company in Montreal, is looking for a dependable and energetic accounts payable and receivable clerk. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and fluent in French and in English. They must be organized, and be able to multi-task, problem-solve and prioritize workloads.

The Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk is responsible for all the day-to-day duties related to the entire Accounts Payables cycle and assists in cash receipts and deposits.

Responsibilities and Duties

Accounts Payable Functions

  • Ensure the timely and accurate execution of full cycle accounts payable functions.
  • Matching and coding of invoices, cheque preparation, printing
  • Prepare filing of sales tax returns (GST/QST) for multiple companies
  • Ongoing improvement of existing processes and systems

Accounts receivable (cash receipts) functions

  • Enter cash receipts and ensure proper application to customer accounts
  • Prepare bank deposits

Other administration duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Data entry for residential leases
  • Front desk receptionist replacement during lunch hour and vacation (answering phones, messages, courier)
  • Filing and various other office duties

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience in accounts payable
  • Strong Organizational Skills to effectively manage multiple projects and monthly deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Knowledge of residential leases would be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS suite applications
  • Experience in Yardi would be an asset
