JOB TITLE: Kinesiologist

REPORTS TO: Kinesiology Team Lead or Director, Clinical Service Integration

DEPARTMENT: Kinesiology

LOCATION: Calgary Centre - Suite 301 - 906 16th Ave Sw, Calgary. AB

STATUS: Casual

Kinesiologists play a key role in our team environment; primarily they focus on fitness testing and feedback sessions as part of the Client Health Assessments. They will also perform other occupational testing as required.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Kinesiologist is accountable and responsible for all areas related to Kinesiology. Further explanation of the role being described. The major areas of the role are:

  • Respect individuals and their rights regardless of race, religious beliefs, color, gender, physical and / or mental disability, marital status, family status, economic status, education level, age, ancestry or sexual orientation;
  • Perform fitness assessments on patients using ACSM and CSEP guidelines and in-line with the company’s protocols Relevant data;
  • Compile and prepare reports on patient’s health status and assessment/test results;
  • Review of client/patient charts for accuracy and completeness ensuring patient files are complete for that day’s appointments;
  • Ensure that in the booking of appointments that proper balance is maintained between client preferences and efficiency of the operation;
  • Maintain service levels to promote and meet our guarantees;
  • Ensure accuracy of all communication with co-workers, suppliers and doctor’s offices;
  • Understand the programs and services of the Copeman Healthcare Centre to provide patients with accurate information when questions are asked;
  • Notify all appropriate parties of changes to appointments and any changes to the schedule and handle patient calls with respect to lateness for appointments seeking guidance from affected staff;
  • Be organized and maintain a clean, tidy work environment;
  • Observe and practice company policies on a consistent basis such as limiting discussion with co-workers in public areas about work related items;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Conduct maximal Direct VO2 Testing;
  • Develop personalized care plans in collaboration with Dietitian Team for all Weight Wellness Program Patients;
  • Develop personalized and effective care plans for clients that are in-line with our values and team strategies;
  • Provide evidence based care to deliver high quality, effective action plans;
  • Develop and implement individualized training programs for all Personal Training Clients.

  • Ensure accuracy of all communication with co-workers, suppliers and doctor’s offices;
  • Assist accounting and marketing with tracking of statistics and matching and tracking billing paperwork and information;
  • Provide support to other staff as required;
  • Support a team-based approach to Centre functions;
  • Understand the tools to deliver pathways of care to enhance the relationships of both client to clinician and clinician to clinician.

  • Schedule assessments and consultations with patients;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics or Kinesiology or Exercise Science;
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a fitness environment;
  • Cardiac stress testing experience an asset;
  • Experience in lifestyle counseling and ongoing client management;
  • Responsible and committed to customer satisfaction;
  • Must be professional and respect confidentiality at all times;
  • Strong communications, both written and oral;
  • Experience with electronic health charting an asset;
  • Current and active member of CSEP possessing the CSEP, CEP or ACSM equivalent certifications.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • You will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting. Typically you would work office hours however; some flexibility may be required to accommodate service requirements for the operation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Non Physical ability to do the job as you will be spending time walking, bending, stretching, and standing.
