As a high profile-Level role, the selected incumbent would be located at the Headquarter (Montreal, Canada). This role requires frequent travel for customer visits, and to suppliers on a regular basis. The role reports directly to Reflex’s President. The individual will be responsible to strategically lead and position the organizational capabilities and synergies within the Quality organization internally and across our supplier and customer sites.
The Senior Quality Director is responsible for the development and improvement of Reflex’s Quality Policy and Quality Manual which ensures that all aspects of customer and regulatory requirements are being met and exceeded. Analyzes performance from concept through field performance to advise and assist leadership to ensure excellence in quality is achieved.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides leadership to all aspects of Quality from the perspective of customers’ and regulatory requirements.
Establishes and maintains ISO9000/AS9100 compliant Quality Management System (QMS) to meets the needs of Military, Space, Industrial and Commercial applications.
Maintains effective QMS processes, communicates results of QMS performance, and assures pursuit of customer satisfaction.
Member of Contract Review Team with respect to customer quality requirements.
Support all functions with Quality KPIs, data, and analysis to drive root cause and corrective actions on enterprise wide initiatives (i.e. Zero-Defect Strategy, APQP, Lean, etc.).
Responsible for supplier auditing and quality control of incoming materials.
Incoming QC validation
Provide key support through feedback to design engineering on product predictability.
Identify and support capital projects as required to maintain or improve product quality inspection and capabilities.
Manage and support the goals related to Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE).
Working to implement training plans and scheduling for all personnel on Equipment
Establishes, monitors, analyzes and reports key quality metrics to all appropriate functions.
Recommends areas of focus to improve overall quality.
Provides leadership to resolve quality issues determines short, intermediate and long-term corrective action plans and monitors to insure plans are implemented and validated.
Member of Microsoft GP "Super Users" group
Become expert in ERP processes related to your department
Continuous training and improvement on current processes
Suggest and implement new processes to improve operational and reporting efficiency
Performs other related duties as assigned by the President
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a microelectronics or photonic quality leadership role.
A minimum of 10 years of experience with direct ownership of Quality functions and Quality Management Systems
Strong leadership, communication, organizational and presentation skills required
Experience in managing, leading and motivating teams and individuals
Self-starter, energetic, team player and a good problem solver.
Experience in Product quality and testing against commercial, avionic & military standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable in a very fast-paced environment with high degrees of autonomy.
Hands-on manager to establish metrics, processes, and team structures to establish and track continuous improvement.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Bilingual (French and English)
Must be a Canadian and/or US Citizen.
University degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations or other technical discipline
Individuals with strong electronics or optical backgrounds are preferred.
