We are currently seeking a Shop Assistant – General Labourer to join our team in Whitefish, ON.
Anticipated Start Date: Immediately
Type of Position: 3 month contract with possibility of extension
Reports to: Shop Supervisor
The Shop Assistant – General Labourer performs all general labour duties required by the Shop Supervisor in order to keep the garage, yard and its mechanic operations safe, organized and functional.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pressure wash equipment including heavy equipment;
Travel between Whitefish and Sudbury to pick up parts and supplies as directed;
Assist with function testing and verification of various equipment;
Sweep, clean/sanitize and mop the shop and lunchroom as directed;
Maintain an adequate inventory of shop supplies (water, cleaning supplies, etc.);
Move boxes and parts;
Organize yard equipment and parts;
Grass cutting and painting as required;
Adhere to all PowerTel policies, standards, procedures and safe work practices; and,
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Class G drivers license is required; Class DZ would be considered an asset;
Crane or boom operator qualifications would be an asset;
Ability to lift up to 40lbs;
Ability and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions; and,
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines.
