What is the opportunity?
RBC Dominion Securities Branch located in Kamloops, BC is looking for an Associate Investment Advisor to join a high performing Executive Council Investment Advisor team. The main focus of the role will be discretionary portfolio modelling/trading, business development and wealth management service, reviews and support. The team is looking to hire a high-energy, detail-oriented professional who wants to build a career in Portfolio/Wealth Management. You will work in a fast-paced team environment and will be responsible for assisting in the management of discretionary portfolios through trading, monitoring, re-balancing and assisting with the implementation of wealth management strategies.

What will you do?
Relationship Manager: For a select client base within the Family and Business Wealth Program
Joint COI - Investment Management Advisory: Assist with Managing Equity models, Fixed Income, ETF & Fund strategy, research & Idea generation, Asset allocation, exception and customized reporting, Client proposals new and existing, Maturing Issues.
Investment Management Operations : Trading, Rebalancing, debit & credit balances, gain loss harvesting, administration, Book costs, reorgs, MRGD review
Wealth Management Services: Assist with preparing and implementing wealth management strategies including financial plans, booking meetings with internal partners, in conjunction with team.
Business Development: Assist with Internal & External development
Client Service & Relationship Management: Deliver a superior client experience in assisting clients with day to day wealth management service requirements.
Complex & General Administration: As assigned, including support to team as needed
What do you need to succeed?
Excellent understanding of financial products (Equities, fixed Income, mutual funds, preferred shares, options etc.)
Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
CFA, CPA, LLB, CFP or similar designation
Excellent computer skills, including advanced understanding of Microsoft office
Be able to work in a high pressure environment and experience meeting strict deadlines
Licensed by IIROC as an Investment Representative (IR) or Registered Representative (RR)
A high degree of current market activity knowledge is an asset
3+ years of relevant work experience in Portfolio Management
Commercial banking experience
Good knowledge of Discretionary Investment Management and Investment Policy Statements
