CASCADES CONTAINERBOARD PACKAGING
The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.
Reporting to the General Manager, the chosen candidate will be responsible for the Sales function of the division. Main responsibilities include:
Provide leadership to empower and motivate the Sales Team;
Foster and maintain relationships with Customers and closely manage major accounts;
Provide Sales support and collaborate with Production to ensure Customer and Production needs are met ;
Develop a strategy to maintain and optimize profit margin and tenders;
Monitor market and Customer developments to support growth strategies and ensure a competitive advantage;
Provide strong follow up with Customers, Sales Representatives and Managers;
Integrate and promote Company values and philosophy;
Support divisional and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, waste and 5S;
Manage, direct and implement a variety of projects.

Help develop his/her business unit’s strategic plan and ensure its implementation
Help develop the sales growth strategy for his/her team and ensure its implementation
Apply the pricing strategy and monitor his/her team’s performance indicators
Help develop and implement sales best practices that are in keeping with Cascades’ strategic orientations
Manage trade and exports as needed (trade, broker: specialization?)
Establish and achieve the sales budget for his/her team
Promote and sell solutions and products that are adapted to the needs of clients and refer products from other groups as needed
Help develop/apply his/her team’s compensation strategy
Help employees reporting to him develop their skills and make sure they have the competencies necessary to fulfil their responsibilities
Make sure the work flow and team structure are tailored the needs of the sales strategy
Manage and engage employees based on Cascades’ values and business strategy

Have 5+ years of sales experience in the Canadian and US market;
Have experience in implementing market segmentation, customers and products;

The ideal candidate will have:

Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities;
Proficient use of various computer programs
Several years experience in a Managerial position coupled with 5-10 years of direct relative Sales experience and/or a post secondary education in Marketing or Business;
Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of the corrugated industry;
Ability to work under pressure and to meet expected deadline.
The successful candidate will:
Be available for regular business travel in both Canada and United States;
Have a valid drivers licence;
Participate in required training and development.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Other relevant fields
