What the Operational Planning team is about
The Operational Planning team is responsible for managing projects, developing tools, systems, and processes to effectively manage Loblaw’s store operations. We are responsible for reinforcing and delivering on our customer and colleague experience, while supporting process and efficiencies.
Central Operations is about coordinating and driving project initiatives based on business insights and store operations. The team actively collaborates with operating divisions and supports the underlying strategic objectives, systems, processes, reporting & tracking. We are enablers in the organization.
Support the Operational Planning team in planning and execution of various projects through all stages of the project life cycle
Help create project plans, milestones & roadmaps from project inception to execution
Build and update project and communication plans as well as business cases
Able to take large amounts of information and or data sets and distill relevant information making it presentation ready, therefore conveying a cohesive story
Liaise and collaborate with internal business units, to develop strong relationships, communicate project objectives & deliverables, and ultimately gain buy-in on projects
Support project managers with working committee meetings and help prepare content for executive steerco’s
Understand the internal capital allocation process and support request within this process
Execute programs according to timeline and budgetary requirements
Exercise influence to hold stakeholders accountable to project deliverables
Respond to operational objectives and executive requests as provided by various business units
Design standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to support training
Support process development, documentation and implementation
Data collection, analytics, and maintenance of data with necessary changes, generate reporting by various methods/formats
Conduct KPI analysis to assess project performance and assemble reports
Administration, such as meeting coordination and minutes
Provide any additional project coordination services, participate in special projects and ad hoc duties as required
A passion for operations and Loblaw businesses and brands
Completed or pursuing a college diploma or university degree in management, retail, marketing or general business
Prior knowledge and work experience in a retail setting would be beneficial, especially grocery retail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong business acumen
Highly organized with excellent project and time management skills and capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects
Brings fresh perspective and ideas, be confident coming forward with suggestions and ideas to solve problems
Excellent organizational skills, and enjoys a fast-paced work environment
Healthy interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships
Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
High attention to detail and accuracy
Adaptable and able to work with diverse personalities and styles
