An exciting career opportunity exists at MRC Total Build for Superintendent focusing on General Contracting construction. This is full-time position will be based out of our Port Kells location.
The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:
Minimum 10 years as a Site Superintendent;
Completion of a Gold Seal Certificate is preferred;
Minimum three (3) years of general contracting construction experience in the lower mainland market;
Proven team leader and outstanding communicator;
Excellent knowledge of Windows-based applications and be technology savvy;
Sound Construction and analytical judgment;
Effective verbal and written communication skills;
Customer focused with the ability to resolve project related conflicts in a positive and productive manner;
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage owner forces employees, suppliers and sub-trades;
Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
Ability to understand engineering plans/specifications, methods and procedures; and,
Able to implement a project’s changes management processes effectively and in a timely manner.

Job duties include the following:
Ensures Company policies and procedures are communicated to employees and adhered to accordingly;
Provides leadership and guidance to project teams to effectively ensure completion of given projects;
Provide leadership in implementing a site safety program and communicate establish and monitor safety compliance on project(s);
Works directly with the Project Manager and Estimator in designing, implementing and executing all aspects of a project including scheduling and organizing sub-trades in an effective and efficient manner to maximize production and contain costs;
Completes daily, weekly and monthly job progress reports as required;
Assisting with change order pricing and material purchasing as and when requested;
Ensures purchase orders (PO’s), times heets and other site administrative functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner;
Directly supervises and oversees all on site construction activities;
Participating in the tendering process;
Participate in Building and maintaining a historical cost database;
Remain current on technical knowledge and local industry trends by attending educational workshops, industry functions, and reviewing technical publications;
Participate in project post-mortem with site teams and company executives; and,
Create/maintain sub-trade and supplier relationships.
