We are hiring a Performance Marketing Specialist to be an integral part of Unilever Canada’s Digital Hub! You will be embedded as a critical team member into the day to day operations of Unilever Canada’s Digital Marketing organization supporting some of Canada’s most loved brands. Please note this position will be hired through our partner agency OLIVER and will work on site at Unilever.
This role will be responsible for delivering the digital marketing strategy for our Foods and Home Care portfolio, including brands such as Knorr, Hellmanns’, Tazo, Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum, Breyers, and Seventh Generation. Your focus will be to support performance marketing programs with a focus on search and ecommerce. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a growth mindset, and is capable of driving change in a large organization. This person has a deep passion and intermediate background of both Ecommerce and digital marketing, including: PPC, SEO, on-site search, and analytics. Flexibility and the willingness work at both a strategic and tactical level is required.
The role will work collaboratively with the Lead Digital Marketing, F&R and HC to spearhead the strategy and foundational structure of digital marketing operations for the F&R and HC brands. As this is a new role for our organization, we are looking for a candidate who is able to lead by example, while providing instruction and education to other team members along the way.
What you will be doing:
Ecommerce and Search Marketing (60%):
Under guidance of the F&R and HC Digital Lead, manage SEM and E-Commerce Search marketing budgets, including: copy updates, setting and tracking budget spend priorities and KPIs, measuring overall results against plan, and applying relevant beta tests on an on-going basis
Work with agency partners and internal teams to develop and execute optimized brand content for owned E-commerce and retail partners, including: A+ content, brand storefront rollouts as well product page content (product imagery, video and copy)
Work with agency partners and internal teams to execute Co-op or retailer search advertising campaigns
Monitor and analyze performance against traffic, CPA and ROI goals; continually make and implement recommendations for optimization and ongoing growth
Support the creation and execution of content and optimizations for brand sites as it pertains to improving site speed, engagement and organic search ranking (SEO)
Work with the Digital Strategy Lead to identify new optimization tests and growth opportunities
Business Planning (20%):
Research and be a thought leader in best practice on all things E-Commerce and Search media related to driving profitable growth through digital marketing and on-site conversion optimization
Education and Reporting (20%):
Keep on top of industry best practices and provide POV/white paper on recommended actions
Create a playbook based on best practices, and democratize capabilities across the organization
Work with Digital Lead to educate brand teams on the benefits of Embedding eCommerce and Search (SEM and SEO) investments in all Marketing activities
Present findings to stakeholders to create an atmosphere of transparency and data-driven optimization
What you need to be great in this role:
The ideal candidate will help drive results by being optimistic, analytical and entrepreneurial; key skills:
Experience building a brand on Amazon and running search campaigns is required
3+ years’ experience working in E-Commerce and search engine marketing
CPG, Online Retail, Grocery, or Performance driven digital experience preferred
Intune with digital and E-Commerce trends
Strong ability to build solid relationships, both internal and external
Excellent planning, project management and organizational skills
