A day in the life of a Long‐Term Disability Case Manager:
- Assessment of long‐term disability claims including the identification, and analysis of medical, contractual, and eligibility information
- Development of case management plans
- Conduct timely functional calls with plan members
- Communicate/consult with claimants, internal/external providers, and government agencies
- Provide technical direction by reviewing and identifying file development needs
What you will need to succeed:
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Disability management and/or Group Benefit knowledge
- Previous case management experience within an insurance/financial organization
- Background in health‐related field would be an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs
- Excellent organizational skills
- Solid office administration skills
- Strong customer service experience in a demanding environment
- Excellent problem‐solving and decision‐making skills
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- Flexibility to balance conflicting priorities
- Analytical skills with a close attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Deadline driven
- Insurance claims knowledge or experience
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology, medical management and pharmacology would be an asset
- Knowledge of Canadian Armed Forces terminology would be an asset
