Job Description and Responsibilities
EVRAZ is seeking a Technical Trainer to join our Regina team. This role reports to the Technical Training Supervisor and works to align employee training with the organization’s goals. The Trainer will be responsible for administering technical training programs, developing learning modules, assessing employee skills as required to build and maintain proficient on-the-job skills and knowledge. The trainer will support employees to accomplish job results by coordinating job-specific training and onboarding support.
Assess employee competency against defined standards
Deliver technical training programs in various formats (on-the-job in a heavy industrial environment, classroom, workshops, web-based, etc.) and using various mediums and resources (slide decks, video, technical manuals, etc.)
Support new employees through orientation and on the job training
Develop or modify classroom, online and on-the-job training materials and aids to meet specific training needs
Review existing training materials to ensure material is effective and current; perform modifications when required
Assist in creating new job procedures
Work with managers to address learning issues and educational needs regarding specific employees or departments
Maintain knowledge monitor new education and training methodology and technology with an emphasis on safety and product quality
Previous experience in adult education and/or technical training facilitation
Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally at all levels of the company
Excellent communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills
Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement training an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with additional training and development software and/or Learning Management System (LMS) an asset
Exceptional speaking and presentation skills
Certification such as Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+ ) is a strong asset
