As an RPN you will have the opportunity to work in a growing industry and lend your expertise while developing new skill sets with a dynamic team. You will be responsible for various tasks including providing support and supervision for the PSWs, ensuring a co-operative approach to meeting resident's needs and giving high quality care.


  • Administer medications according to the rules and regulations of the College of Nurses.
  • Assist residents with the personal care tasks of daily living.
  • Observe, document and report any changes in the residents’ condition.
  • Demonstrate effective time management, planning and organizing of work activities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records.
  • Maintain positive and open communications with residents, residents’ families and other staff members.
  • Communicate regularly with the PSWs to increase awareness of resident care requirements, priorities and policies.
  • Ensure that resident care is satisfactory, and problems are quickly and effectively resolved.
  • Responsible for management of nursing unit activities during the shift, through delegation by the Nurse Manager.
  • Prepare and administer medications according to the rules and regulations of the College of Nurses and Villa policies.
  • Carry out physicians’ orders, perform basic skills as listed in the Standard of Practice, and assess residents’ condition and report changes and concerns to the Care Coordinator and/or physician.
  • Ensure maximum safety for residents and staff at all times.
  • Deal with emergency situations through professional response and communication.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with safety related issues including medications, lifting, transferring, mobility, etc.
  • Report concerns, issues and suggestions for improvement to the Care Coordinator (or Director of Operations) and participate in reviewing and improving Villa policies and practices.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • RPN certificate or equivalent
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification


  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check*
  • TB 2-step screening & Medical form*
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds as needed
  • Ability to read, write, speak English

*Temporary exceptions to Vulnerable Sector Police & TB screenings. Employees can only work at one location during COVID-19 Pandemic

Working Conditions

  • Hours of Work: Monday- Sunday (variety of shifts)
  • Ability to sit/stand for up to 8 hours


Zest has increased all wages until end of June by 15%
