Position overview:
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager you will support field operations, and office locations and lead by example, various Environmental, Health & Safety practices, designed to safeguard all employees, the public, and owners.

The position will be based in Burlington Ontario, with the need to travel based on the company’s Work On Hand. You will be flexible and willing to travel anywhere in Canada.

Responsibilities include:
Ability to work in a team environment
Assist Health and Safety manager with ongoing administration (data entry, filing, etc.) and some field coordination
Read and write health and safety based forms, follow-ups, and processes
Understanding work site safety risks as well as communicate these to personnel in a professional manner
Administer safety documents on site and assist with site orientations. Inspect or assist with inspections as required
Providing on-site support as required
Maintain awareness of internal and best practice safety procedures regarding your role
Maintains compliance with Federal, Provincial, local and Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
Be able to understand and complete a Root Cause Analysis as required

Skills:
Excels in time management, organization, and tracking
Show STRONG initiative for identifying and addressing areas where support is required by HSE Team
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Can understand and analyze various type of HSE reports; WSIB, etc .

Qualifications:
CRST or working towards CRSP
NCSO may be considered
3 years prior experience in an Health and Safety field role
Working at Heights (MOL Approved)
Must have experience in Construction
Heavy Civil is considered a strong asset
Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation with a clean driving record
