The Norris Square Community Alliance Out of School Time (OST) program is a project of the City of Philadelphia, DHS, PHMC and the School District of Philadelphia. The Norris Square OST program, operated by NSCA in collaboration with Hunter, Moffet, and McKinley Schools is designed to enable the Norris Square community to increase the academic success of neighborhood children as a precursor to a lifetime that is productive, satisfying and community oriented. The Center will provide academic enrichment opportunities and family centered educational, career and recreational activities.

General Position Responsibilities:
The Group Leader/Activities Coordinator is responsible for the planning and scheduling for all OST site activities.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with staff and participants to determine the types of activities that are

needed and desirable

Develop comprehensive, detailed schedule/master plan for all activities

Disseminate the master schedule and weekly updates in a timely, regular and thorough

manner;

Identify, recruit and hire all activity staff/instructors

Monitor activities to ensure that all of high quality, well-attended and take place on time

Conduct focus groups with participants to evaluate activities and identify other activities

that may be desirable

Arrange transportation for field trips with verification of insurance for bus companies

on approved SDP list and emergency contact list for all youth going on the trip

Track and request all supplies needed for youth projects and activities

Contact parents when youth are absent from program within 1 hour of program start

time

Research, Plan and Implement a program plan based on best practices and Scope of

Work

Follow the Scope of Work provided by funder and complete the assigned sections of the

annual Reapplication and RFP

Provide weekly summaries to Site Director

Be on-site for Center hours and activities/events

Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Knowledge of and comfort with the community and setting

Requires a minimum Associates degree in Early Childhood and related fields of

education with two years of relevant experience

Bilingual in Spanish

Demonstrated experience in management and supervision

Demonstrated experience and skill in master scheduling

Able and willing to work evening and weekend hours

Provide current DHS form CD 322 – Child Care State Health Assessment dated less than 30 days from time of interview and every two subsequent years

Demonstrated experience in education with 2500 verifiable experience working with

youth

Provide Child Abuse History Clearance from Department of Human Services dated less

than 30 days from time of interview and every two subsequent years

Provide Criminal Records Check from Pennsylvania State Police dated less than 30 days

from time of interview and every two subsequent years

Provide Federal Criminal History Record Information (FBI fingerprints) dated less than

30 days from time of interview and every two subsequent years

Provide of Mandated reporting webinar within the last five years
