Sasco Contractors Ltd. is a growing electrical contractor, conveniently located in Burnaby, BC.

Sasco has an exciting opportunity available for a Junior Accountant to join its Finance & Administration Department.

In this role you will be an important team member supporting the key areas finance team; AP, AR and payroll. The incumbent will be reporting directly to the Controller while working closely with other members of the Finance & Administration team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work shall include but not necessarily be bound by the following:

Accounts Payable:
Save and distribute supplier invoices coming in by email/mail.
Entry of vendor invoices into Sage; administrative expenses only.
Reconciliation and entry of the company corporate credit card transactions.
File approved vendor invoices.
Generate supplier payments (EFT and cheque); ensuring supporting invoices are accurately matched to the payment remittances.
File paid invoices.
Reconcile vendor statements on a monthly basis.
Prepare the month end accrual; administrative expenses only.

Payroll:
Entry of employee expense reports.
Assist with time-card processing; biweekly.

Accounts Receivable:
Prepare daily deposits.
Provide coverage to Accounts Receivable for vacation relief.
Light reception and other ad hoc finance & administrative duties as needed.

Education & Skill Requirements

Certificate in bookkeeping or working towards the completion of a business-related program.
1 – 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience working with Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Experience working with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate software is an asset.
