CBC/Radio-Canada is looking for a Director, IT Business Liaison, based in either Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto, who would draw on his Business Liaison experience, being responsible for implementing the strategic vision and product development in line with the business priorities of the sector for which he is responsible. Due to your knowledge of the business field related to institutional functions (human resources, finance, procurement, legal and communication), you will influence and contribute to the business strategy from a technological point of view. Your experience in people management and your leadership will be leveraged in managing a team of Senior Managers.
You will also be responsible for maintaining the cohesion and the relationship between the different business units in order to understand CBC/Radio-Canada’s strategic objectives with the goal to improve and optimize the various technological components. In addition, the liaison role will be to facilitate and improve the collaboration between the business units and different IT functions in order to attain the same goals.
Lastly, you will be responsible for implementing different governance committees.

As our new Director, you will:
Suggest, recommend and participate in the development of strategic directions and initiatives, as part of preparation for the annual Business Plan. In support of these strategic directions, decide on the necessary objectives for the designated sector of activities, in the short, medium and long term.
Manage relationships with business partners in order to establish strategic and operational requirements as well as needs in terms of acquisition and development of solutions.
Establish modern strategies and technologies to optimize commercial value, as well as design a modernization and consolidation plan for products over a 3-year horizon.
Harmonize product acquisition and development strategy with operational objectives.
Establish the vision and strategy of the product portfolio in line with the department’s vision. Demonstrate creativity and innovation in solving complex problems taking into account organizational, business and operational impacts.
Promote the importance of product portfolio management to senior management and throughout the Corporation in order to ensure technological alignment between the different organizations.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to align business needs and the investment plan with business strategies so as to optimize commercial value, mitigate risks and achieve efficiency gains Corporation-wide.
Adopt best practices in product portfolio management as they concern maintenance and support processes.
What you bring:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT management, and ten years of experience in people and product management, or any other combination of education and experience deemed pertinent may be considered.
Solid knowledge in the areas of finance and human resources.
Excellent knowledge of the financial solutions, SAP is an asset.
Excellent knowledge of HR solutions, Workday and Taleo is an asset.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of key sectors within information technology, both on the management side and business side.
In-depth knowledge of product portfolio management (strategy, technology, trends, etc) and its best practices.
Excellent ability to understand issues, a developed strategic sense, excellent interpersonal skills, a sense of leadership and a developed team spirit, a good capacity for synthesis and simplification, and a critical mind.
Ability to bring a new perspective to already existing solutions, to think “outside of the box”.
Excellent communication, both spoken and written.
Bilingualism (French and English).
Excellent ability to work in a team-based, client-centric environment .
