As part of your work term, you’ll have an opportunity to participate in a series of professional developmental workshops and to learn from Bruce Power leaders, all while acquiring essential work experience to help launch your new career.

May 2020 Work Term

Key Responsibilities:
Communications Development students deliver narrated bus tours of the Bruce Power site over the course of the summer and interpret the attractions inside the Exhibit Hall.
Become familiar with Bruce Power's Business Plan and operational goals.
Become familiar with Bruce Power operations, the operations of CANDU reactors and issues associated with the nuclear industry.
Assist with building relationships with external stakeholders.
Be aware of corporate issues in order to respond to questions with advice or assistance from supervisor or regular staff as required.

Additional duties include:
Delivering presentations to tour groups
Staffing the front desk
Assisting with plant tours
Opening and closing the offsite facility
Planning of special events and the completion of small projects.

We seek students that :
Are eligible and available for a four (4-month) work term placement from May 2020-September 2020.
Are available to work weekends to assist with bus tour schedules for the summer and including labor day weekend
Have a strong understanding of safety in the workplace
Enjoy working with and interacting with visitors to our community
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Offer strong organizational and planning abilities
Demonstrates strong learning agility and self-motivation
Solid academic performance with a G.P.A. equivalent to 3.0 or higher
Current post-secondary studies in one of the following programs and will return to school upon completion of their work term:
Public Relations,
Journalism,
Theatre Studies
Political Science
Tourism & Hospitality
Bachelor of Commerce
