The Talent Acquisition Specialist develops and implements strategic recruitment initiatives that attract and retain high performing talent to Seaspan. This role will be hands’ on with talent acquisition (full-cycle recruitment), The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, can operate at a fast pace and is passionate about continuous improvement. This position plays a key role in building a strong employer brand for our company to ensure we attract, hire and retain the most qualified employees.


Accountable for managing all job requisitions and full-cycle recruitment for these requisitions:
Designs and updates job descriptions
Advertises job openings on company’s careers page, social media, job boards and internally
Sources potential candidates from various online channels (e.g. social media and professional platforms)
Crafts recruiting emails to attract passive candidates
Screens incoming resumes and application forms. Responds to questions for candidates and maintains professional and timely communication
Provides shortlists of qualified candidates to hiring managers
Recruits, interviews and selects employees with the hiring manager to fill vacancies for shore based positions and completes the necessary hiring paperwork
Interviews candidates (via phone, video and in-person)
Administers testing, conducts reference checks and clears pre-employment checks as required
Sends job offer emails and answers queries about compensation and benefits
Collaborates with HR Leadership Team on refining recruitment strategy, aligning processes to the strategy and training managers on the processes
Manages the Applicant Tracking System, and leverages it for full talent acquisition capability
Monitors key HR metrics, including time-to-fill, time-to-hire and source of hire
Participates in job fairs and host in-house recruitment events
Collaborates with managers to identify future hiring needs
Acts as a consultant to new hires and help them onboard
Performs other duties required


BSc in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or relevant field
3-5 ears of proven work experience as an HR Recruiter or similar role
Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases
Experience with sourcing techniques
Experience recruiting for a global employee base
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good writing style
Able to prioritize and multi-task
Attention to detail
Previous experience recruiting for technical, financial or marine positions preferred.
Exposure to international relocation and temporary work permits
