Why is this role important?
Leading a team responsible for central analytics, reporting and processing across the areas of Vendor Income, Vendor Audit and Top Vendor. As a successful candidate you will be critical to support various Finance objectives focusing on maintaining controls, driving process efficiencies and data-driven insights. You will partner with various cross functional teams to drive simplification in Vendor Income processes and continue to drive our reporting platforms as we look to deliver efficient reporting options for the Business. Finally, a successful candidate will be instrumental in the continued development and enhancements related to SAP functionality.
We are based in Brampton, Ontario and operate in a closely-knit and highly collaborative environment. We are a fast-paced and fun team working to both support Vendor Income/Audit and transform the way we use and consume data in doing so. To achieve this goal, we are looking for talented and passionate individuals who want to solve challenging problems through data and be able to communicate large amount of complex information in an easy to understand, yet simple to comprehend manner.
Responsible for the development, analysis, and communication of on-going and ad hoc financial information related to Vendor Income
Provide decision support analysis to address issues, opportunities with and from our vendors
Prepare weekly, periodic & quarterly reports, variance analysis and reconciliations
Take large amounts of complex information from multiple sources and produce simple and easy-to-understand explanations of business results
Liaise and collaborate with various stakeholders (Vendors, Category, IT and Finance, etc.) to follow up on various questions and drive Finance initiatives
Lead on-going process improvements/enhancements to ensure data integrity and accuracy
Participate in department initiatives, special projects, and ad hoc analysis as required
Facilitate and document clear business process maps and documentation
Lead by example towards the Loblaw culture we desire by building and maintaining colleague engagement and personal relationships through open & honest feedback and through a determined, energetic and positive approach
Minimum 3-5 years related work experience in a similar role
University Degree or Post Secondary education in Business, Commerce, Accounting or Finance related discipline
General Accounting knowledge; enrollment in an accounting program (CGA, CMA, and CA) would be a definite asset
Advanced skills in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong understanding of SAP (master data, sourcing, costing) would be an asset
Experience with the following: VBA, SQL SAS, and Microstrategy would be an asset
Ability to understand and analyze business processes across various cross functional areas
Approachable and collaborative, ability to identify and utilize team member skill sets for various projects
Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively obtain information and communicate issues and requests to others
Must possess strong analytical skills with the ability to think outside the box
Highly motivated, pro-active professional, who is flexible with an ability to adapt to a complex and ever-changing environment
Results oriented - ability to effectively manage various projects and consistently deliver on time with high degree of accuracy
