Cultivation Technician

(12 Month Contract)

The Cultivation Technician will understand and effectively use grow and cultivation techniques for cannabis production to enhance quality, safety and efficacy through all stages of the plant production-cycle.

Reports To: Cultivation Supervisor

Location: Langton, Ontario

Hours of Work: 40 hours/week, some weekends (hours may change based on operational needs)


  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all cultivation activities during processing, at all times, to result in consist quality products
  • Cloning, potting and transplanting, maintaining nutrient regiments, feeding plants, defoliation, topping, flushing, preventative sprays, trimming, harvesting, drying, packaging and waste disposal
  • Meet and strive to exceed production targets daily
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation per Health Canada requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Production Practices (GPP)
  • Track physical inventory to ensure accuracy
  • Identify issues and report to direct supervisor immediately to ensure Quality Assurance (QA) teams are engaged early on for any production issues
  • Support the packaging and shipping functions by being cross trained and keeping updated on processes and practices
  • Adhere to all Quality practices, processes and direction to ensure all Health Canada requirements are met
  • Sharing what you learn for the purposes of process improvement
  • Proactively flagging when you have time to complete other tasks
  • Work safely, report all workplace hazards and follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures, Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Participate in annual health and safety training
  • Adheres to all Maricann’s policies and procedures
  • Attend and participate in all team and supervision meetings
  • Attend and participate in all required training such as but not limited to WHMIS, AODA, and Health and Safety
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Work experience in greenhouse environment and production facility is ideal but not required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clear Police Clearance and/or any Security Clearance required


  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Standing, walking and repeated bending.
  • This is a greenhouse working environment, which may have continuous exposure to heat, light and humidity.


Must be able to meet satisfactory security clearance requirements with Health Canada under the under The Cannabis Act up to but not limited to Alternate Responsible Person in Charge (A/RPIC) Status.
