We’re looking for a Systems Administrator to join our System Administration & Analysis team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, System Administration & Analysis the Systems Administrator will apply the principles of service excellence and provides highly specialized support, advice, guidance and management to customers in the areas of: installation and maintenance of enterprise systems where multiple interactions require highly complex analysis and problem resolution, BCP/DRP, technology infrastructure, day-to-day systems administration and stable operation of enterprise computing systems.
The Systems Administrator ensures continued uninterrupted service and security through identification and resolution of problems, planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Evaluates and recommends network and system configurations as well as participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that systems provisioning and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

What your day looks like:
Operations – 40%
Ensures all network infrastructure and enterprise computing systems and services are functioning correctly consisting of all servers, databases, middleware, telecommunications and related systems and software.
Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
Responsible for the overall operation of enterprise computing systems.
Support – 30%
Provides escalation support to the Systems Support group and technical assistance to other teams within Information Technology such as architects, development, and quality assurance.
Responsible for liaising with vendors in the event of system failure or required escalation.
Responsible for developing and maintaining documentation, system processes and procedures that relate to all network infrastructure and enterprise computing systems.
Business Continuity – 15%
Builds and maintains critical systems’ redundancy, backups and standby systems to maintain business continuity to protect against unexpected system or infrastructure failure.
Develops and maintains BCP documents and procedures to provide controlled and efficient failover and failback of systems to backup infrastructure and services.
Implementation – 15%
Implements enterprise computing and infrastructure solutions with standardized architectures and levels of redundancy using defined project methodologies and project management techniques.
Conducts research on new technologies, services, best practices, and standards.
Acts as an integration specialist in the application of systems, software, and hardware to the corporate technology environment; translates user and business requirements into technical requirements.
Your experience and skills:
University Degree in Computer Science or similar Technical Certification
Minimum 4 years IT experience with at least 2 years in network or systems administration
MCSE or equivalent experience
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Understanding of corporate structure, divisional focus and departmental responsibilities
Certification or equivalent knowledge and hands on experience with current version Microsoft Windows Server OS, SQL, Exchange, Active Directory, cloud services
Extensive technical knowledge of network and server operating systems
Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with dynamic and often unpredictable deadlines
Proven analytical and creative problem solving abilities
Excellent hardware/software troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Strong written and oral communication skills, able to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
Strong customer service orientation
