Job Description

We are currently looking for an Executive Creative Director to join our Marketing team reporting to the VP, Marketing Operations. The ECD will play an integral role at Loblaw Marketing as we evolve our in-house agency. This newly created position will be responsible for building and managing a team of Creatives across fully integrated campaigns in support of our Discount, Market and Shoppers Drug Mart and Corporate Brands portfolios (nofrills, Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, Zehrs, no name and President’s Choice to name a few of our brands!).

Key Responsibilities:
Leading a team of art directors, designers, writers, content and community managers to develop and execute best-in-class brand experiences across a diverse range of brands and channels
Shaping our various Brands’ creative direction and branding efforts
Leading and coaching team to inspire groundbreaking ideas through teamwork and leadership
Partnering with brand teams, strategists, planners and project managers to set expectations for deliverable
Leveraging custom audiences and data to develop a compelling creative solution
Creative articulation of concepts through persuasive story-telling (presentations) to internal stakeholders
Be the voice of the customer and a champion for innovative brand experiences
Managing external agency partners
Accountability for the effective utilization of resources and managing budgets
Building strong relationships across internal stakeholders and peers
Keeping track of the latest advancements in technologies used in creative direction
Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of current marketing trends
Motivating and inspiring team by building a positive culture
Identify and develop creative talent within team growth opportunities

Qualifications:
10-15 years of relevant experience
Proven ability in leading large teams through an agile process of investigation, ideation and implementation
Strong leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams across diverse projects
Understanding of brand management, customer experience methodology, marketing,
Effective time management skills
Extensive experience in both online and offline marketing
Understanding financials and ability to manage a budget
Candidates should have an award-winning portfolio
Exceptional verbal & written communication and presentation skills
Bachelor’s Degree—preferably in Advertising, Design, English, Communications, or a similar discipline
