This senior role is a Mission Systems Operations Engineering Lead, within the Operations Engineering organization, focused on the execution of mission systems projects. This person is integral to the overall success of all mission systems programs and product lines and is responsible for using lean manufacturing and root cause analysis tools to resolve system level and business issues.

Support the development of Mission Systems and Operations Engineering interrelated processes
Represent and champion Mission System Programs and development activities within Operations Engineering Group
Technical liaison between Mission System Engineering, Subcontracts Management, Supplier Quality Engineering and Operations Engineering
Support Technical capability analysis at suppliers/subcontractors along with Supplier Quality Engineering
Support Design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) alongside Mission Systems Engineering and the subcontractor to ensure the products are manufactured in excellence
Support translation of test requirements from product specification both internally (operation) and externally (supply chain)
Development and qualification of new processes will be required to ensure engineering and MIL-STD requirements are met within production (verification matrix and traceability matrix)
Responsible for the development & evolution of system level test processes and procedures, including PFMEA, SPC, tooling/automation development and test procedures
Engage appropriate teams and organizations within the organization as required
Identification and monitoring of first pass yield and rolling yield
Take action on yield issues to develop corrective action and process fixes
Lead tiger teams in quality issues as they pertain to containment and corrective action activities
Support translation of product specifications from engineering to manufacturing procedures
Identify failure trends & systemic issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions
Leadership and support for continuous improvement initiatives and projects
Ownership & leadership of large system level issues and provide technical direction to the organization (internally and externally)
Create documentation to support system level changes, including test procedures, Work Instructions and authoring procedures within the Manufacturing Execution System
Reviewing change requests generated by engineering, subcontractors and operations staff, and implement changes as required
Manage Mission Systems Make/Buy Decisions on behalf of Operations Engineering
Ownership and/or contribution to the operations execution plan for new Mission Systems products and customer specific programs
Must have experience in a high tech operations environment.
Excellent knowledge of Aircraft, maritime and land Systems
Excellent technical communication skills both verbal and written.
Resourceful and capable of engaging and maintaining resources from other departments.
Ability to assign priorities to multiple tasks/assignments so they are completed within the designated timeframe.
Thrives in new environments and willing to work within ambiguity.
Able to troubleshoot and “real-time" problem solve manufacturing/testing issues through utilization of the lean tools to eliminate waste and ensure that problems never happen again.
Must be well organized, goal oriented and able to give attention to detail.
Able to read and understand Electrical Assembly and System Level Architecture drawings.
AS9100 knowledge and experience an asset, but not required.
Desired Experience and Education
University degree in Engineering. (Aerospace, Land Systems, Maritime, Technology Fields)
Must have a well-rounded electrical and mechanical background with manufacturing engineering experience.
Familiarity with the Systems development lifecycle from concept through to disposal.
Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in an Engineering capacity.
