Reporting to the Program Manager, the Registered Dietitian supports health promotion and disease prevention through nutrition assessment and counseling in pediatric and adult populations. In addition to individual support the successful candidate will also be a key member in our program delivery as a group facilitator.
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE IN THIS ROLE
Conduct one-on-one nutrition assessments across the life span and provide support and education using a patient-centered approach
Develop, implement, evaluate and adjust nutrition care plans specific to patient needs
Document nutrition assessment and care plans using an electronic medical record (EMR)
Collaborate with team members, referring physicians, program manager and other allied health professionals as required
Identify and initiate cross-referral opportunities to programs within and outside of the SCPCN to meet patient needs
Facilitate adult group education programs for health promotion and disease prevention
WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nutrition program, including a recognized dietetic internship
Current registration and in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Alberta
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a clinical or primary care dietitian
Experience facilitating group programs and assisting with program development
Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, time management and organizational skills with high attention to detail
Excellent communication, team building and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
Strong critical thinking skills with a solution focused orientation
Proficient with computers and technology, including but not limited to Netcare, EMR (TELUS Wolf), SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, and resource and reference search databases
