We are seeking a Financial Accountant, Import Agency Business to join our Corporate Accounting & Reporting Team in a 9 month contract position.
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting, The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the financial accounting and financial controls associated with Andrew Peller Import Agency API business. They are required to provide analysis, insights and recommendations related to financial performance; this includes reviewing revenue, margin, inventory, and expense reports.
We are looking for a teammate with:
University Degree/ College Diploma in Accounting
Accounting Designation or working towards one would be an asset
5 years of experience in financial accounting role.
Advanced proficiency with Excel
Experience in Oracle Fusion would be an asset
Possess strong attention to detail, data integrity and ability to problem solve
Ability to work under tight deadlines, changing priorities and multi-tasking environment
Team player and contribute to a positive work environment
This teammate will be accountable for:
Analyze and communicate Monthly/Quarterly Financial Statements, Sales and Margins results of API
Report Monthly/Quarterly Advertising & Promotional A&P spends including calculation of Actual Supplier Spends vs budget. Proactively provide insights in a timely manner to ensure A&P budgets are leveraged to their full potential and are not being exceeded.
Provide financial information with annual budget process including forecast and planning.
Provide direction and support to the Staff Accountant Import Agency
Review and maintain landed cost standards, including updating and maintaining in Oracle for import agency products.
Review, approve and share Material Overhead/Freight/Duty/Handling Accrual Account monthly including Foreign Exchange gain/loss to ensure margin objectives are met.
Review and approve invoicing to Import suppliers for recoverable expenses, communicating any issues to National Director API.
Prepare invoicing and accruals for commissions including any annual agreed to "bonus" commissions.
Review Small Winemaker Collection balance sheet accounts quarterly.
Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Lead change efforts to streamline and improve business processes and control
Special projects and requests as needed.
Support Internal Control Testing NI 52-109.
