We currently have a opportunity for a TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST - N3D - CONTRACT TO DECEMBER 31, 2019

Job Duties/Responsibilities and Details

Reporting to the PC/LAN Team Leader, the successful applicant will provide application support, maintenance and installation of computer hardware/software for Central Board Office, School offices, Instructional classroom, and Field Offices.

Responsibilities will include: setting up and maintaining computer networks; implementing local area networks and providing on-going support for administrative computer systems; supporting school staff by installing application software and operating system software; providing technical assistance to school staff in the set-up and use of hardware and peripherals; assisting the Internetworking Team with installation and maintenance of communications equipment and the resolution of problems; performing routine maintenance on hardware and operating system software, directing equipment for repair and monitoring repair process; testing, debugging and evaluating operating systems, applications software and user interface; training school staff on software and hardware; other related duties as assigned. The successful candidate must be able to travel to any location within the Peel District School Board and could accordingly be required to transport equipment.

This is a day shift position and the 7 hours will be between 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Experience and Qualifications

Mandatory Education / Certification

Post secondary education in applicable discipline
A minimum of two years experience in technical support of PC/LAN environments

Experience with the following is mandatory;

Expertise with MS Windows, MS Office Suite, Apple Technology, TCPIP, Wireless and Ethernet Networks, Mobile Technology, Active Directory and SCCM, and Tablet Technology
Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with Board personnel technical staff
Must possess an automobile and have a valid driver's license
Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment
Record of satisfactory on-the-job performance while employed by the Peel District School Board
