Junior Human Resources Administrative Assistant (Calgary, AB)

Position Description
The Aurum Group is a dental related group of Companies, with over 400 staff across Canada and the U.S. Our Head Office is located in Calgary, AB, on 17th Avenue SW.
The HR Admin Assistant will handle a variety of personnel related administrative duties. You will provide information and clerical support to the HR department and employees regarding human resources activities, policies, processes and procedures for our Canadian and U.S. staff. We are looking for an eager, outgoing, dependable, and professional individual with good communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and teamwork skills to join our team!

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives
  • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
  • Provides orientation for new employees by providing information packages, opening and closing of employee files - updating checklist, reviewing company policies, explaining benefit programs, and obtaining signatures for documents, maintaining employee library
  • Manage and update HR databases with different information such as new hires, terminations, sick leaves, warnings, vacation, and days off.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc.)
  • Answer telephone and respond to telephone inquiries, updating telephone list
  • Entering vacation into computer system
  • Updating calendars and reports
  • Pension/Benefit coordination
  • Support employees with questions regarding payroll and benefits in a timely and professional manner
  • Filing
  • Typing up memos
  • Capable of searching out and creating job postings
  • Updates of HR information on company wide screens

Job Requirements

  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Strong working knowledge of basic computer programs
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Pleasant and professional phone manner
  • Maintain employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential
  • Interest or Education in Human Resources
