Who you are:
The Sales Associate is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Ivey Trading Company. They are required to conduct all functions relating to customer service, ordering, billing, packaging, and inventory management.
What you’ll do:

Provide excellent customer service to meet needs of clients of Ivey Trading.

Maximize the sales and profitability of the store by achieving and surpassing store sales productivity goals.

Assisting store customers in locating products in the store as well as handling phone and web orders.

Vendor management and ordering inventory. Includes sourcing, purchase order creation, tracking, invoicing, quality assurance and fulfillment of all orders, including custom.

Recommend new product suggestions and source suitable vendors. This applies to custom orders and products identified for regular inventory.

Day-to-day financials: Opening and closing procedures, cashier balancing, PCI compliance.

Complete and submit monthly store financial reports to Finance

Opening and closing of the store.

Maintaining proper inventory levels

Following standard operating procedures of the store.

Giving product demonstration and details to the clients.

Reporting loss and damage of products, customer feedback and complaints to the sales or store Supervisor.

Assisting the customers in billing and packaging process at checkout.

Receiving inventory and maintain all records of sold inventory and filling order forms for new store purchases.

Updating gift information database and website maintenance (photos, adjusting web matrix).

Must keep the store in order and maintain conformance under visual presentation standards.

Operating a temporary store location at other Ivey facilities or special events as required (ex: Convocations, Spencer Leadership Centre, Donald K. Johnson)

Scheduling part-time help and training new hires

Verify invoices and submit them to Finance and Marketing Director for approval and processing.
What you have:
Required Education and Experience:

Recognized Community College Diploma required
-
Previous retail experience is an asset

Knowledge of Shopify
Skills and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and understanding their requirements

Ability to work in a team and meeting assigned targets

Good verbal and written communication skills

Good technical skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and Shopify POS.

Professional presence and diplomatic manner

Demonstrated ability to multitask and to work accurately in an interruptive environment

Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail

Proactive planning and problem-solving skills

Ability to take directions well and to work cooperatively within a small team

Availability to work additional and flexible hours /days when required in peak times.

Position Type
This is a part-time (20-24 hours/week) 2-year renewable contract.
Hiring Range
Based on the salary band for this role, candidates can expect to be offered a starting salary in the range of $20.00 – $21.00. When determining salary, Ivey Business School considers the market, candidate experience, as well as internal equity.
