PLT Apprentices required for Employer in Hamilton/Niagara Region. Durationa and Start Date: TBD

Scope of Work:

Assist Powerline Journeypersons with the below

  • Street lighting power restoration, repair, replacement, and/or maintenance – response to high, medium, low priority street light outage calls
  • Construction and/or maintenance of OH and UG electrical distribution incl. pole setting and framing, streetlight luminaires, fixtures, brackets, relays, cable installation, stringing of OH conductors, handwells, grounding, terminations, elbows, splices

Dig installation holes varying in size and depth, trenching and excavating trenches, utility pole holes, light standard removal & install, service repairs, electric cable fault trace & locate and repair, perimeter (exploratory) slot trenching, expose existing cables or conduits, cable or conduit installation, Line fault repairs and other duties as assigned.

Specific Demands:

Working outdoors on electrical (primarily low voltage),
WHIMIS training, WAH certified and Apprentice PL- Level II verification documents
Valid licence with a clean abstract.
