The Industrial Systems Manager is responsible for the planning, execution and start up/maintenance for large industrial installations. The manager will provide development, training and leadership to a team of specialized technicians.
The Industrial Systems Manager collaborates with market managers to maintain the integrity of Superior Propane plants as well as technical system oversight for specialized customer equipment customer maintenance, vaporizers and dispensers.
This role also provides guidance to Superior Propane sales team members on scope of work, project timelines and complex quoting. In addition, the Industrial Systems Manager will liaison with external or third party contractors/partners to ensure project-based work is completed on time and within budget.
ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinating large and complex installations with key stakeholders from initiation of quotation process to execution and completion i.e. quote, change orders, bill of materials and project timeline
Acquiring all clearance documents from regulatory and governing bodies
Liaison with engineers and contractors to obtain drawings and approvals
Managing transport of purchased goods from site to end user
Creating critical paths for projects as required to have work completed
Customer communication with go/no go and any necessary requirements
Provide project close-out support as necessary
Provide feedback on capital projects requiring work in region, help build business cases to ensure markets are operating safely and in compliance
Provide guidance to sales team members on new installations in conjunction with planning coordinator to ensure projects are scheduled within budget and resourced appropriately
Participate and recommend in resource planning for all industrial system installation and maintenance required
Oversee workflow for all monthly plant maintenance for the region, ensuring facilities and plant operations are safe and meet (or exceed) regulatory requirements by conducting safety reviews and participation in regularly scheduled safety committee meetings.
Ensure all compliance is up to date for dispensers and vaporizers for both internal and rental equipment.
Work with Service Manager to ensure service capacity is aligned and identify opportunities to offset internal capacity constraints while ensuring expense budget is on target
Lead, coach and performance manage the direct field Technicians in operational accountabilities by providing clear direction, guidance, and support:
Ensure compliance in safety, training, licensing and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with planning coordinator regarding day-to-day operations of the field team and liaison on staff scheduling and daily incidents.
Leverage systems, procedures, and controls, and reinforce consistent practices.
Support the Regional Operations Manager and Market Managers to create succession plans, and developing recruiting strategies to attract top talent.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Possesses a post- secondary education in a technical business or engineering field, combined with 5-7 years experience in an industrial application. Relevant industries may include energy, HVAC, or other construction applications where there are significant regulatory requirements.
Experience managing, leading and quoting large capital projects
Strong knowledge of:

CSA B51:19 Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping Code
TSSA Ontario Regulation 211/01 Propane Storage and Handling Code
Ontario Electrical Safety Code
E2 Regulations & plans
Risk and Safety Management Plans (RSMPs)
Has experience working in a service model organization supporting commercial customers
Ability to work in matrix or cross-functional environment where exerting influence and collaborating across the organization are keys for success.

This position requires regional travel throughout Ontario, job incumbent must carry a valid G license.
