To better serve our expanding business, we are currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill a Farm Management Support position. This position requires you to be able to work out of both our Granton and Listowel locations.

Key Responsibilities:

To advise Avonbank customers and their stake holders to become successful Lely dairy equipment users and ensure their improvement of the financial and social wellbeing by providing farm, herd and equipment management guidelines.

· Training dairy farmers best robot farm management practices and guide new robot customers through their process from conventional to successful robotic milking.

· Evaluate robot farms by observing and analyzing the barn, herd, feed and computer data, summarizing observations to offer practical advice to reach the customer’s goals.

· Apply guidelines and support tools defined by Avonbank.

· Consulting herd management stakeholders (like nutritionists and vets) about the best management practices for successful robotic milking.

· Attends required training to ensure skills is kept current and up to date.

· Works within corporate safety standards and promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge and practical experience of dairy herd management.
  • Understands how to operate and explain Lely equipment and software.
  • Good listener, communicator and advisor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated independent and enthusiastic individual with analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment working with coworkers and customers.
  • Able and willing to generate progress reports of customers.
  • Able to perform presentations for groups of customers.
  • Willing to travel and work flexible hours.
  • Valid drivers licence with a clean driving record.
