Durham Recruiting has a rare opportunity in Oshawa for a Senior Construction Administrator. A full-time permanent job with a successful construction partner in Durham. You must have at least 10 years in construction administration to be considered for this role.

The Opportunity:
In a nutshell, we are looking for an experienced construction administrator to be a great all-rounder in the office (typical Durham office in that there is a little of everything on your plate). This role is essentially a project coordinator in a small office. The following is a high-level list of responsibilities:

Serve as righthand assistant and coordinator to Company’s Owners, Estimators, and Project Managers
Overseeing the status of upcoming and outstanding bids and then working with the core team to actively move projects along
Prepare pre-qualification under rigid timelines to gain access to bid on projects
All things tendering: contacting suppliers, printing specs, reviewing drawings, pricing, closing tenders online through various websites
Emails, online research, uploading docs, collecting/conveying messages, and maintenance manual creation on Adobe
Purchase office supplies and set up/manage cell phones

Organized, pride in your work and who takes ownership for mistakes (and then learns from their mistakes)
Great communication skills: emails, via phone, letters and working with those who are not always the best communicators – must excel at getting the information needed from people in order to do your job efficiently
Great with deadlines, a ton of moving pieces and being able to keep everything on time and to spec
Attention to detail – you are responsible for checking over everything – catching missed details is an essential part of the role
Ability to work independently and with little direction
Strong person – there are a lot of no’s and push backs with this role, it is not for the administrator who does not like to be in charge and make decisions
