Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Maritimers and Atlantic Canadians. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Reporting to the Manager, ICU and Respiratory, the Registered Nurse works to full scope of practice as an independent practitioner within an inter-professional and collaborative team, providing holistic (addressing bio, psycho, social, cultural and spiritual needs), and comprehensive care for individuals, families, groups, populations and communities across the continuum of care. The RN provides leadership and applies advanced nursing knowledge within specific practice settings, and in-depth nursing knowledge, skills and judgment in providing care to all individuals (includes families, groups, populations and communities).
The RN ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviours, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and inter-professional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and be eligible for registration in Nova Scotia
Current BCLS certification
Current ACLS certification or commitment to obtain within orientation period
Two (2) years' recent related experience an asset
Post basic course in Critical Care Nursing an asset
CNA Certification in Critical Care Nursing an asset

Hours of Work
Long assignment, full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Beginning as soon as possible, with an expected end date of January 17, 2021

Availability to work all shifts – 24/7 environment
$35.0356 - $41.2784 hourly
($42.7230 with 25 years of RN experience)
