Offshore Recruiting Services Inc. (ORSI) in conjunction with our client, Boskalis, has immediate openings for Chief Engineers.

We are currently working with the Dutch multi-national Boskalis Canada supporting their dredgers for Season 3 at the LNG project site in Kitimat, BC. Initially there are two dredgers on site – Alex – grab dredger running of what looks like a barge fitted with Manitowoc 4600 lattice boom with 5m3 bucket work to depts. Of 24 meters. The second is a backhoe dredger Cornelius – this looks like a dredger barge sitting on jackup spud cans and anchor system outfitted with a Demag H 225 excavator. In support of these dredgers there is one Canadian flag, multi-purpose vessel, M/V Suzanne. This vessel is trading in sheltered waters at the LNG Canada site supporting Dredgers, handling barges and general support as required by the Dredging operation.

These vessels are running 24/7 so we need double crews – this is a 42/42 rotation working 12 hour days with accommodation subsistence in a modern camp environment.

You will be issued full PPE on site – must pass a drug screen and a Transport Canada Medical.

REQUIRED Certifications include:

  • Valid Transport Canada certificate of competency (III/2)
  • Transport Canada COP STCW Basic Safety
  • Transport Canada COP Proficiency in Survival Craft
  • Transport Canada designated Security Duties
  • Advanced Firefighting
  • First aid
  • Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical
  • Seamans log book
  • Passport

A definite asset is sailing vessel experience, preferably tug boats.
