We are seeking an experienced Project Design Coordinator for Pana Builders Ltd a subsidiary of Nunastar Properties Inc. located in Edmonton, AB.
The position is a key member of the Pana Builders Team which undertakes a wide range of projects each year ranging from renovations of existing buildings through to construction of new residential, office, retail, and hotels.
Reporting to the General Manager of Pana Builders, the successful candidate will be responsible for numerous functions including but not limited to:
Liaise with architects, engineers and interior designers ensuring answers are getting made, paperwork is flowing, and deadlines are being met.
Discuss the operational needs and priorities with our property management professional team to better understand how buildings may be operated and maintained and discuss building innovations with the team so that we gain their experience for better design and also build buy-in for innovations.
Coordinate large and small design projects mainly for renovations at our buildings in Yellowknife, Iqaluit & Edmonton
Propose options for the best furniture, fixtures, equipment, materials, layouts, designs, alternatives seeking advice and approvals from Nunastar’s executives or client owner/users.
Create and maintain CAD files in accordance with company needs and requirements.
Work effectively with teams of architects, designers, project managers and other professionals to produce drawings, sketches, schedules, etc.
Review and analyze sites for planning and design considerations. Understand bylaws, hunt down information, and perform calculations as necessary to make good decisions.
Summarize and present information to senior management for discussion or decisions.
Conduct or manage design and building studies and risk assessments
Research better ways and meaning of achieving desired outcomes
Assess environmental and construction risks associated with each project
Check drawings from multiple disciplines to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Analyse architectural plans and drawings, highlighting any possible risks or problems and making amendments using computer-aided design applications (CAD)
Lead the project team to assemble and finalize development permit applications
Seek fee proposals from architects and consultants. Review invoices for accuracy.
Visit project construction sites to review progress, inspect work, trouble shoot, and gather design parameters and input project design and renovations.
Review of issues requiring changes and timely facilitation of CNN’s
3 to 5 years relevant industry working experience
Formal training and education in architectural technology and design
Multiple hands-on roles with specific projects where you can demonstrate how you had a significant direct influence on creating great outcomes
Demonstrable artistic and design skills to complement technical know-how
Competence with Revit and AutoCAD and strong general computer skills Microsoft Office and email management
