Position Overview
Applications are invited for an Autopsy Pathologist/Forensic Pathologist position.

The successful candidate will have expertise in autopsy/ forensic pathology with addition interest in cardiac pathology and general surgical pathology is desirable.

About EORLA:
EORLA operates 19 acute-care, hospital-based clinical laboratories across the Region.
The Division of Anatomical Pathology at the Ottawa Hospital processes more than 51,000 surgical pathology specimens per year. The Forensic Pathology service has 800 forensic autopsies per year with 4.4 forensic pathologists. The medical autopsy service has approximately 120 autopsies per year, with one-third being cardiac cases.
The successful candidate will head the medical autopsy service and work with new residents on the Competency by Design program.

Basic Requirements
Minimum requirements include an M.D. degree, license to practice in Ontario, Royal College of Physicians (Canada) certification in Anatomical Pathology. Fellowship training in cardiac pathology and/or certification in Forensic Pathology would be considered an asset. The competition will remain open until the position is filled.

As a pre-condition of employment, all new EORLA employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
