DUTIES
Red River College is seeking a Research Manager in Culinary Research to support industry driven
applied research initiatives associated with the new Culinary Technology Access Centre. Reporting to the
Executive Director of Research Partnerships & Innovation (RPI), the incumbent will be responsible for
projects and activities related to NSERC and NRC-IRAP funded programing in food product and food
service research projects. This will include developing project proposals in conjuction with industry
partners and the culinary research team, managing resources, budgetting on projects, monitoring
progress and results, troubleshooting and reporting results to the client. Other responsibilities may include
industry outreach, presentations, and reporting to funding agencies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Science, preferably food or nutrition related; an equivalent combination of education and
experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of the Western Canadian food processing industry, industry trends, new research and
emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in food product development
  • Demonstrated experience in research management, including propsal development, budget
development, and reporting
  • Ability to undertake multiple tasks with limited supervision
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in group settings
  • Ability to effectively manage and resolve conflict
  • Excellent written communication skills
