This role helps to deliver on the above vision for the Starbucks Canada Talent Acquisition team and contributes to the success of the company by executing on sourcing, attraction and assessment strategies to identify high-quality, diverse candidates for roles up to and including district manager level for Retail Management positions within assigned geographies.
As a talent acquisition specialist you will:
Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for assistant store manager, store manager and district manager positions across multiple regional geographies. Ensure that the hiring process complies with Starbucks policies and procedures and with employment laws and regulations.
Work with Human Resources Business Partners and Retail Operations hiring team leaders to understand strategic market objectives while developing strategies to meet current and future talent needs.
Apply an in-depth understanding of market intelligence, industry strategies, organizational structures and compensation practices for each level of retail management roles in order to advise the business on proposed solutions.
Consult with hiring managers on best practices for candidate attraction and interview processes, current and future openings, talent planning and the future direction of the team.
Executing and Championing
Act as a subject matter expert and champion to the larger talent acquisition specialist team for assigned areas of focus
Participate in special projects and initiatives to drive annual and ongoing goals within the talent acquisition team.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to achieving personal and team key performance metrics.
Engage in timely and appropriate communication with all candidates, hiring managers, vendors, Partner Resources Business Partners and other stakeholders.
Utilize and leverage Taleo and LinkedIn Recruiter to their full capacity while working to achieve identified performance metric goals.
Sourcing and Networking
Create and implement new proactive and forward-thinking acquisition strategies to ensure that Starbucks attracts and retains high-quality, diverse candidates.
Create and maintain a robust candidate network, utilizing tools and creative strategies for attracting new talent.
Develop and manage relationships with external parties to build a high quality and diverse candidate pool.
Identify focused recruitment campaigns for active and passive candidates and pipeline for future openings and future state of the business. Conduct post interview debrief meetings to select finalists. Present job offers, negotiate with candidates and close offers.
Partner closely with the National Talent Sourcer to proactively build a Talent Community of high potential candidates for future opportunities.
We’d love to hear from people with:
3 or more years of experience in talent acquisition, human resources, or other related fields
3 or more years of experience in high growth, fast-paced environments
Excitement for driving and delivering on the Starbucks Canada Talent Acquisition vision
Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong talent assessment skills
Ability to develop and implement effective recruiting strategies
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to influence, consult and negotiate

Strong analytical, critical thinking and trouble-shooting skills
Ability to interpret and use financial and quantitative data to support business decisions
Knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and training and development
Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), applicant tracking systems and LinkedIn Recruiter
Strong skills with leading forecasting conversations, advising business partners, and creating and delivering reports or updates
Strong understanding of compensation, benefits, onboarding and training programs
Ability to quickly learn required expertise for roles across multiple leadership levels and markets
Ability to construct a business case
Ability to generate top-tier passive candidates
Bilingual fluency (French and English) as an asset
Ability to navigate multiple social media channels is an asset
