Overview of Position

Wesgroup is looking for an action oriented team player to work closely with the Treasury team to manage the day-to-day accounting. This opportunity requires a results-oriented individual, who thrives on building relationships and accepting new challenges within a fast paced environment. The role of Junior Treasury Accountant will consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

Job Responsibilities:

Banking

  • Monitoring and managing the daily cash position in multiple bank accounts
  • Assist with daily, weekly and monthly cash forecasts
  • Prepare account and wire transfers for requisitions
  • Prepare single payment request for virtual card payments with HSBC
  • Prepare documentation for new bank account requests to various financial institutions
  • Work with various financial institutions for trouble-shooting, discrepancies, and other issues
  • Work with all departments to support their requests related to treasury responsibilities
  • Have a good understanding of the complex organization structure and the flow of funds between related parties

Accounting

  • Prepare high-volume journal entries for treasury transactions
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Assisting in admin duties in Concur, a platform for managing employee expense reports

Soft skills

  • Ability to work in a tight deadline under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Have analytical and problem-solving skills with strong desire to succeed
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to adjust to a continuously changing environment

Ad Hoc

  • Manage ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Corporate Accounting Manager

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in an accounting or treasury related support role
  • Experience in using Yardi Voyager is preferred
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
