The primary purpose of this position is to provide clinical dietetic services at the Labrador West Health Centre and to promote improved nutrition knowledge and nutritional status of the population within the Labrador West area serviced by Labrador-Grenfell Regional Health Authority. This position is responsible for providing nutrition expertise to support and enable people to adopt eating habits that will promote health and help prevent disease.
" Graduation with a degree from an approved college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition;
" Completion of an accredited dietetic internship program;
" Must be a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians (NLCD);
" Previous work experience within the last two years as a dietitian an asset;
" Must be able to work with minimal supervision;
" Satisfactory Code of Conduct.
Duties (Include but not limited to):
" Plan, organize and provide clinical dietetic services to referred inpatients/outpatients of Labrador West and long term
care residents of the Labrador West Health Centre;
" Assess referred clients and develop, implement, and evaluate individual care plans based on analysis of
assessment findings, clinical reasoning, and best practice. Monitor changes in status and adjust care plans
" Provide education to clients and their caregivers as required to support optimal and safe care for nutrition needs;
" Collaborate with other members of the health care team to implement and evaluate nutrition care plans;
" Attend client care conferences and meetings when indicated;
" Maintain and manage caseload in an efficient and effective manner;
" Prepare and compile monthly reports/statistics;
" Participates in research, committees, program related activities and policy development as required;
" Provide support to Food Services in areas requiring nutrition expertise;
" Other related duties as required.
" CG-42 salary scale, $38.01 - $44.79 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.
Hours of Work:
" 37.5 hours bi-weekly. Hours of work will follow the flexible work schedule in accordance with Article 19.01(a) of the NAPE-HP Collective Agreement based on 37.5 hours biweekly (by mutual agreement), variable shifts may apply.
