The purpose of this position is to help organize the accurate and efficient flow of inbound shipments to the Distribution Center (DC) to ensure receipts are scheduled based on priority and available capacity, while adhering to all applicable company policy and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:
Organize and schedule the delivery of inbound shipments to the DC based on a review of identified priorities, available receiving capacity and the order in which shipments become available to ensure that shipments are delivered in a time-sensitive and cost-effective manner.
Monitor and update the status of inbound shipments to accurately reflect the expected availability of stock.
Assist with Yard Management as required for inbound shipments.
Ensure the required shipment information is available prior to the receipt of product to assist in the efficient flow of goods throughout the receiving process.
Work effectively with external drayage vendor to ensure the delivery of inbound shipments as required and assist in follow-up regarding any discrepancies.
Communicate and work effectively with the receiving department, along with head office logistics and customer service, to ensure maximum visibility to inbound shipments and any issues preventing / delaying receipt of product, are identified and resolved on a timely and efficient basis.
Monitor and update any required reporting regarding both receiving department and drayage vendor performance, on a timely and effective basis.
Assist in the process for reviewing and selecting a drayage vendor.
Ensure accurate records for inbound shipments are maintained in an organized and easily accessible manner.
Assist the Inbound Manager in ensuring effective departmental SOP’s are developed, updated and adhered to.
Other duties as assigned by the Inbound Manager.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Excellent working knowledge of computer systems and applications. Proficiency in the following applications is essential; Word, Excel, Outlook and Smartsheet
Very strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills in the English language, both written and verbal.
Proven abilities to be accountable, detail oriented, thorough and motivated.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the supply chain industry, either in a directly comparable role, or in a DC working with the inbound or outbound movement of product.
University or Community College graduate, or demonstrated equivalent skills gained through work experience.
