Chemical technology diploma or a B.Sc degree

  • Experience with ICP and or ICP-MS
  • ISO17025 quality environment and knowledge of the standards
  • Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and results oriented
  • Demonstrate strong time management, organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Possess strong analytical abilities with ability to multi-task and to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented and pro-active
  • Trouble shooting skills/ability to provide suggestions and act on the next plausible step
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team member, independently and work with minimal supervision
  • Display willingness to put in the needed effort to ensure that the tasks are completed in the required time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to deliver results on time and to the very high standards
  • Willing to work shifts, overtime and week-ends if required


May include some or all of the following; or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the Manager

  • Preparation of samples & calibration standards for ICP and or ICP-MS analysis
  • Sample dissolution,
  • Complete required logs
  • Daily set-up & operation of ICP and or ICP-MS instrument
  • Maintenance and trouble-shooting of ICP and or ICP-MS Instrument
  • Disposal of analyzed samples and instrument waste;
  • General laboratory housekeeping with dedication to 5S
  • Compliance with company’s Health and Safety, company policies and professional conduct policies
